REVIEW: Wage War at KOKO, London, April 27, 2018

The sound of heavy guitars and ear deafening screams are thundering through the speakers, the in synch headbanging has taken an extreme form and people are desperately trying to carry the weight of the crowd surfers over their heads. Wage War has taken on the stage. As the lights go out, the intro to "Alive" begin.

Playing a sold-out KOKO, this is the band's final show of their European tour along with Sylar and headlining band Of Mice & Men. After the release of their second studio album "Deadweight", Wage War finally tour the UK, and you can tell how much their fans have been longing for them.

The emotional metal ballad "Johnny Cash" fills the room. This is a fan favorite, and the audience is still for the first time since the set began, screaming their lungs out to the lyrics. As the final note rings out, making fans assume it is the last song of the set, frontman Briton Bond's rough voice screams "We've got some more energy left in us, London!" as he starts singing the whispery vocals to "Stitch", the first single from "Deadweight". A spectacular, energetic show, just how a metalcore gig should be.
