PREVIEW: Beach Hotel

What kicks off summer in Brighton better than the recent tour announcement of our city’s own Beach Hotel? We do not know and we promise you won’t as well. This splendid 3 piece is set to embark on their career’s largest tour, kicking off as soon as the 28th of May at the Burley Festival and are set to bounce around various festivals and venues all over our not-so-little island all summer long. Beach Hotel is a mellow indie-rock band that will send you straight back to the 70s, perhaps in a dark sweaty basement somewhere. Following the release of the single ’95 Miles’, a lovely low-key acoustic track about moving on from who you once were and embarking on a journey to truly find yourself, Beach Hotel released their very first album of ‘Be Fine’ on May 7th. This 6 track compilation is 21 minutes of distorted guitars, emotional lyrics and catchy hooks. Beach Hotel tell stories and share emotions that are so pure and come straight from the heart through their unique but raw vocals. The album commences with ‘Sober’, a very relatable tune with strong lyrics that can easily be sung back at the band. ‘Be Fine’ is indie-rock through and through with a touch of grunge, a squeeze of pop and sprinkle of emo, effectively extending their reach to potential fans of all genres. After playing The Pipeline, shortly followed by The Brunswick a few weeks ago, listeners decided that was far from enough, making The Pipeline have no choice but to book them for another show on August 26th. Can’t wait that long for your much-needed fix of some grungy indie? Not to worry! How about taking a day trip to our neighbouring city of Southampton to catch them down at the iconic venue of Heartbreakers on the 18th of June? Or perhaps glide up to the capital on the 23rd at The Goodmixer? Honestly, this summer your possibilities are endless. Hop over to @beachhoteluk for the full list of tour dates. We can’t wait to see you there.
